January Homeschool Highlights

Well so much for the every week updates! January has been a fun and busy month for us with homeschool. I've adjusted our schedule a little and am really happy with how it has been going. Adam is moving right along with his reading and is gaining confidence along the way. He loves math! He's doing a little bit of everything- counting, patterns, addition and is starting to learn about counting money. In addition to all of that we did a fun thematic unit about Winter! Here are some of the things we did:

We talked about freezing & melting.

We made ice cubes then played a fun "Melt the Ice Cube" game!

Did a "Will It Slide?" experiment using ice in a pan and different objects.

Filled the water table with "snow," arctic animals and a few Little People!

Added another dramatic play center!

ha ha- my sister & husband are laughing at me for calling it that!

AND...made these super cute melting snowman sugar cookies!

Lots of fun! Maybe I'll be better about updating in February!
